Mesfin Negia

Mesfin Negia

Mesfin is a junior scientist at the University of Minnesota. He received his BS degree from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia after which he taught biology to high school students at Medhanealem Comp. Secondary School. Mesfin also worked for the Ethiopian Health and Nutrition Research Institute as a junior researcher prior to accepting a position as an assistant lecturer at Addis Ababa University in the Anatomy Department. In 2001, Mesfin received permanent residency in the United States and served as a volunteer researcher in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota. Recently, Mesfin received a supplement from the National Institutes of Health to work in the Neurosurgery Research Lab at the University of Minnesota where he is processing brain tissue for histological analyses, culturing stem cells, and performing immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on brain tissue sections.
